This kid is nuts. He shaped his first board when he was just 13 years old, spent his summer inside of a hot ass shaping bay grinding away on new ideas with friends, is probably the youngest person on earth to have their ears drilled out, and absolutely rips.
I managed to squeeze in a little interview with him, here's what we came up with:

This kid is nuts, he shaped his first board when he was just 13 years old, spent his summer inside of a hot ass shaping bay grinding away on new ideas with friends, is probably the youngest person on earth to have their ears drilled out, and absolutely rips. Keep your eyes peeled on him, his future is looking bright.

BG: Age? Location? Trade?
Chris: Age: 20
DOB: 12/20/1989
Location: Cardiff, CA
Trade: Surfboard Builder/Artist
BG: So you're up in Santa Cruz for school, finding some new inspirations in that cultural?
Nature can change a man they say, think you'll come back to SD with a new approach or outlook on what you build?
Maybe constructing boards out of female arm pit hair and patchouli oil...relatively sustainable up there right?
Chris: Yeah im definitely finding a new approach to building up here.
As far as surfboards go up here, the types of waves and conditions are much different than southern california so that
makes a huge impact on the design and shapes i produce because they have to be geared more toward these conditions.
Aside form surfing, my lifestyle and current situation play a large role in what i build. Not having a car (pretty santa cruz of me) limits
my time in the water so its not only about board design all the time. This has allowed me much more time for building things outside
of the surfing realm and to expand on other hobbies like photography and sculptures.
Living around so many trees has also had an impact on my material choice. I've always had an interest in woodworking but now im able to
pursue that due to the availability of a workshop, and i've gained a larger appreciation for it. Overall i've branched out of strictly surfing and
explored building alternative things that i could see being incorporated in what i produce when i return to san diego.
